Episode 19- Summer Mushrooms with Josh Vogeler

July 6th, 2018

Today's podcast is about one of my all-time favorite things to forage- summer mushrooms. We sit down with Josh Vogeler, a previous guest and owner of Myco Mystic Mushrooms. Josh is one of the only people in the area certified to sell wild mushrooms and his passion for fungus shows throughout the conversation. We talk about all kinds of summer mushrooms but mainly focus on king boletes (aka porcini) and chanterelles. Many other species of mushrooms are discussed as well. This is a great episode for those of us who are looking to get into foraging- summer mushrooms can be one of the most rewarding things to look for. Episode 15- Crawfish and Carp

May 26th, 2018

Today's podcast is all about the overlooked species that we have access to in Colorado- specifically crawfish and carp. Crawfish, crayfish, crawdads, whatever you want to call them, have always been one of my favorites so I was excited to learn that an old guest was a craw-fisherman. Kjell and his friend Brandon tell us how they catch upwards of 20 lbs of crawfish in just a few days, some of their favorite ways of cooking them, how to purge them, and tons of insight on where to find them. Kjell also talks about bowfishing for carp and why more people should eat them.

Enjoy the show and check out these links for more information of wild game and wild foods!

April 28th, 2018

Today's episode was recorded on-site at GQue BBQ in Westminster, Colorado. Jason is truly a master of his craft and makes some of the best smoked meats we have ever tasted.
